Carbon reporting software: the output is only as good as the ledger

Carbon reporting software produces the emissions disclosures a company files or sends: GHG Protocol inventories, CSRD ESRS E1 tables, CBAM declarations, customer questionnaire answers. Every one of those outputs is a view over the same underlying data, which is why the ledger under the report decides its quality.

A report generator bolted onto a spreadsheet produces confident-looking tables with nothing underneath. When the auditor or the customer asks how a figure was derived, the report is only defensible if each number resolves to classified lines with methods and factors. That resolution chain is the design center of our carbon accounting software: reports are projections of the ledger, so they inherit its evidence.
