Persefoni pricing for Pro, Advanced and the SB 253 service, and how much Persefoni costs a US company
The short answer: Persefoni pricing has three published parts. Persefoni Pro is free for a single user and covers a Scope 1, 2 and 3 footprint, with CDP and other GHG metrics reports sold as add-ons. Persefoni Advanced is listed on AWS Marketplace at $55,000 a year for companies under $250 million in revenue, rising to $90,000, $130,000 and $260,000 for larger revenue bands. The done-for-you SB 253 reporting service starts at $25,000. For an evidenced inventory without an enterprise contract, published alternatives start at $2,340 a year.
This guide is for a US controller, sustainability lead or procurement manager who is pricing Persefoni against a deadline: a customer request, a CDP response or a first California SB 253 filing. Persefoni is one of the few enterprise carbon platforms that publishes real numbers, which makes it a useful benchmark even if you end up buying something else. Every figure below was read in October 2026 from persefoni.com/pricing, persefoni.com/pricing-compliance-services and Persefoni's AWS Marketplace listing.

How much does Persefoni cost?
Persefoni costs nothing for the single-user Pro tier, $55,000 to $260,000 a year for the Advanced platform depending on your annual revenue, and from $25,000 for its managed SB 253 filing. Advanced is priced by revenue band rather than by seats, so a 400-person company with $300 million in revenue pays the same $90,000 band as a company just under $1 billion.
The Advanced figures come from Persefoni's AWS Marketplace listing, where the platform appears as four "CMAP Enterprise" tiers on a 12-month contract. On persefoni.com, Advanced is "Request a demo" with no number, so the marketplace listing is the clearest public reference. Two terms on that listing are worth noticing: the vendor refund policy reads "No Refunds", and organizations above $25 billion in revenue, or anyone who wants a custom contract, are directed to a private offer. Expect a direct quote to start from those figures rather than undercut them.
Is Persefoni free?
Yes, Persefoni Pro is free with no trial period and no credit card, and it calculates Scope 1, 2 and all 15 Scope 3 categories. The limits are what make it a starting point rather than a reporting system: one user, an annual calculation cycle, preset inventory settings and company-level attribution only. Exportable reports aligned to CDP, the methodology report and the emissions summary export are listed as add-ons.
That matters for the use case most people have in mind when they ask. If a customer wants a single footprint number in a supplier portal, Pro can produce it. If the request is a scored CDP response, an SB 253 report that will face assurance next year, or a footprint that finance, facilities and a reviewer all need to work in, you are paying for add-ons or moving to Advanced. A free tier that sends the CDP report to an add-on is sensible commercial design, and it is worth knowing before your deadline rather than after.
What does Persefoni Advanced include for the price?
Advanced is the full platform. On Persefoni's comparison grid it adds market-based Scope 2, expanded calculation granularity, custom and proprietary emission factors, custom or real-time calculation frequency, location-level and value chain attribution, bulk uploads with APIs and an integration hub, analytics by supplier and facility, decarbonization modeling, unlimited users, and a dedicated climate expert and customer success manager. Persefoni states SOC 1 Type II, SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 compliance.
For a company with several entities, a sustainability team and an ambition beyond the first filing, that is a complete system and the revenue-band pricing is at least predictable. For a company that only needs one defensible inventory, most of that grid is capacity it will not use this year.
What does the Persefoni SB 253 service cost?
Persefoni's SB 253 reporting service starts at $25,000. Persefoni's team prepares an assurance-ready Scope 1 and Scope 2 inventory, handles data transformation and uploads, runs a data quality review and manages the timeline, and you get limited access to the platform for records. The SB 261 climate risk report is also from $25,000, and the bundle of both is from $40,000.
Note the scope of that service: Scope 1 and 2 only, which matches the first SB 253 report due November 10, 2026. Scope 3 and limited assurance arrive with 2027 reports, and Persefoni positions Advanced as the route for "advanced scope 3 capabilities", so budget year two separately. The full requirement, line by line, is on our SB 253 reporting software page.
Persefoni pricing compared with other carbon accounting software
Persefoni is easier to judge next to the rest of the market. Watershed, its closest enterprise rival, publishes no price at all; procurement data from Vendr puts the median Watershed contract near $70,000 a year, and our Watershed pricing page sets out what drives that quote. The table uses only prices each vendor publishes.
| Vendor and plan | Price per year | Users | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Persefoni Pro | Free, reports as add-ons | 1 | A first footprint for one person to own |
| Persefoni Advanced | $55,000 to $260,000 by revenue | Unlimited | Enterprise programs with a sustainability team |
| Watershed | Not published (Vendr median $70,031) | Not published | Enterprise measurement plus reduction programs |
| Hydrus Sustainability Platform | From $24,000 ($2,000 a month) | Not stated on pricing page | Platform plus consultants at $125 an hour |
| Aclymate Navigator | $538 at 1 to 10 employees, scales with headcount | Not stated on pricing page | Small business footprints and certifications |
| CarbonAccounting.ai | $2,340, $7,740 or $23,400 | 3, 10 or unlimited | An evidenced Scope 1, 2 and 3 inventory from the AP ledger |
Vendor price lists move. Persefoni's pricing is spread across a free tier, a separate compliance services page and a marketplace listing, and Aclymate prices on a headcount slider. If your decision is a quarter away, it is easier to track changes to a vendor's pricing page automatically than to reread five of them the week before the budget meeting.
Which Persefoni plan fits, and when none of them does
- Pro fits when one person needs a footprint number for a customer questionnaire and nobody will ask how a line was classified.
- Advanced fits when you run a multi-entity program with a sustainability team, need custom factors and decarbonization modeling, and the revenue band is acceptable.
- The SB 253 service fits when you are over the $1 billion threshold, have no internal capacity, and want Persefoni's team to prepare Scope 1 and 2 for you.
- None of them fits well when finance owns the data, the biggest number sits in accounts payable, and you need every tonne traced to an invoice line for an assurance provider without a five-figure contract.
That last case is what we built CarbonAccounting.ai for. You upload the AP export finance already produces, each line gets a proposed scope and one of the 15 Scope 3 categories with a reason and a confidence score, and only the uncertain lines go to a reviewer. Ledger is $2,340 a year with three seats, Compliance is $7,740 with the CSRD, CBAM and ISSB report packs and supplier data requests, and Assurance is $23,400 with an assurance-provider workspace. All three are on the pricing page, no demo call required.
Questions to ask before you sign with Persefoni
- Which Pro add-ons do we need for our actual deliverable, and what do they cost in total?
- Which revenue figure sets our Advanced band, group or the reporting entity, and what happens if revenue crosses a band mid-contract?
- Is a direct contract priced the same as the AWS Marketplace tier, and does buying through AWS count against our existing AWS commitment?
- Does the $25,000 SB 253 service include year two, when Scope 3 and limited assurance begin?
- If we leave, do we keep the transaction-level ledger and factor history, or only exported reports?
