Sweep alternative: leaner, ledger-first carbon accounting for US teams
Last updated July 2026. Sweep is a serious enterprise product, and this comparison respects that. It centralizes sustainability data across an entire organization and value chain, automates Scope 1, 2 and 3 collection across sites, products and suppliers, and supports scenario modeling and science-based targets for large, multi-team programs, including financed emissions for financial institutions. That breadth is its strength and also its cost: it is a platform you implement, not a tool you try in an afternoon.

When Sweep is the better choice
If you run a large sustainability program across many legal entities, need to model reduction scenarios and science-based targets, manage financed emissions for a portfolio, or report into several frameworks from one data model, Sweep is built for exactly that and has the enterprise track record to match. A company at that scale usually needs the platform depth, the integrations and the implementation support, and a leaner tool would leave gaps. We are not going to pretend early-access software replaces a Verdantix-leader platform for a global program.
When Carbonaccounting.ai fits better
The fit flips when the enterprise platform is more than you need this quarter. If your real job is a defensible Scope 1 and 2 inventory for SB 253 by November 2026, or a customer questionnaire answered from real data, an organization-wide implementation is a slow way to get there. Our carbon accounting software starts from the AP export you already have, classifies every line to a scope and category with a confidence level, and keeps the invoice link attached so the number survives an assurance review. You get to the number in the demo above rather than after an onboarding project.
How much does Sweep cost?
Sweep does not publish standard pricing. As an enterprise platform it is quoted per deployment based on scope, entities, modules and integrations, so the number comes from a sales process rather than a price page, and any exact figure you see quoted online is a guess. We publish our planned pricing on the pricing page and charge nothing during early access. For the full field, see best carbon accounting software, and for the SME-focused option, the Greenly alternative page.
Sweep facts here summarize the company's publicly described product and positioning as of July 2026, including its Verdantix 2026 Green Quadrant leader placement, and may change; verify current features and pricing with Sweep directly. This is our honest comparison, not Sweep's. Our product is in early access and capabilities are described as planned.
